It has been determine that the story about two boys chasing after their dreams to become manga artists "Bakuman(バクマン。)" is set for a live action film adaptation. The movie will be released in 2015 and it is directed by Hitoshi One(大根仁) starring Takeru Satoh(佐藤健) (25) and Ryunosuke Kamiki(神木隆之介) (20).
The series follows talented artist Moritaka Mashiro(真城最高) and aspiring writer Akito Takagi(高木秋人), two boys who wish to become manga artists, with Mashiro as the artist and Takagi as the writer. In the manga, the two boys start out the story as 3rd year junior high students but they will start as seniors in high school for the movie version. Mashiro will be played by Satoh and Takagi will be played by Kamiki. They were chosen due to how close they resemble the characters in the manga.
Satou said: " I wants to make it possible for the people around the world to be able the understand the amazingness of Japanese manga and Japanimation. So please wait for the completion of this interesting work." Kamiki is a big fan of the manga and he said: "I am honored to be able to participate in this amazing work. "
The movie to start filming in May 2014. Satoh is said to be receiving training from professional manga artists and has the cooperation of the editorial department of JUMP.
